Fun fact: when the first Harry Potter movie came out, I was around the same age as Harry. As the characters grew up throughout the series, so did I, so it's no surprise that I fell in love with the characters, the story, and the whole world.
Now, I know there are mixed feelings about the remake, but as with everything I do here, I focus on the props, the details, and the craftsmanship that brings these iconic pieces to life.
These wands were no exception. When I started modeling them, I decided the best approach would be to block out the basic shapes and then manually 3d sculpt every detail by hand. Honestly, recreating them may have been even more fun for me than it will be for you to print them.
The wands were modeled based on reference images and scaled to match their original sizes. Because of that, some sections are quite thin. In my opinion, the best way to print them is either with a resin printer, which should produce fantastic wood-texture detail, or on a filament printer at an angle with supports on one side, which is how I've prepared the included 3MF files.
Included are the ones we have seen so far owned by Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville and Draco
I'll be test-printing these as well, and if I discover a better way to split them for filament printing, I'll update the files accordingly by including those options as well. And if you have any suggestions, please send them my way.
