Alright guys, one final update on the Lantern!
I've gone through all of your feedback and requests, and I've done my best to incorporate everything—and then some. Next to the light up rings and all, the build is absolutely packed with improvements and options. Keep in mind these updates were done only for the Lantern.
What's included in the final update for the Lantern:
1. Updated back details for improved accuracy
The rear detailing has been refined to better match the original design.
2. Fully removable top and bottom sections
Both the top and bottom of the lantern can now be screwed open and shut, making it easy to access any lights or electronics inside.
3. Electronics mounting platform
I've added a small stand/platform that screws into the lower lid, allowing you to mount electronics in an elevated position. As a bonus, there's also a slot designed for RC LED lights, though you're free to use whatever lighting setup you prefer.
4. New press-fit control plate option
I've redesigned the internal plate and added a press-fit version, allowing you to install your own buttons and switches. This means you can have the lantern light up when the ring is pressed into the lantern.
5. General printability improvements
A number of small refinements have been made, including thickness adjustments and changes to reduce the need for support material during printing.
6. And while I was at it... I made the bird too! :D
So that's it, everyone—one final update. I think just about every build option is covered now, and I'm really happy with where the project has landed.
